The Sunshine Centre for Children started in 2000 as a ministry to children and teenagers who were collecting recyclables around a busy market with no opportunity for attending school or even enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood we take for granted in the developed world. Today, our program supports the education of 115 children, from preschool to Year 8, as well as one in vocational training. When the kids are not at public school, they join our programme which includes tuition, meals, health care, English, Bible and computer lessons, games and crafts. In addition, all the parents and caregivers are regularly visited by our staff and given support and counseling where needed. It is our hope and prayer that these families will not only develop skills and attitudes which will enable to them to function more effectively, but also come to know the saving love of our heavenly Father.
Project Future
Project Future is a vocational training and job facilitating centre. It aims to improve conditions for low-educated youth from rural areas in the capital of Cambodia by enabling them to sustain themselves by offering vocational training at an appropriate level and supporting them in obtaining skilled employment in roles such as mechanic, tuc-tuc driver and business. Through training seminars conducted in poor rural areas and in coordination with other NGOs, it builds up capacity in poor rural areas and makes contact with youth who can benefit from job-facilitation.
Jumpah is committed to training, encouraging and equipping Cambodians (especially children) to make a positive and holistic impact on their neighbors and on marginalized people (orphans, widows, terminally ill, and people living in poverty) in Cambodia.
Although it is not a CCFC project, PeaceBridges is a Christian peace-building organisation managed by a seconded CCFC member.
